Tech IP Litigation Associate (Mid‑Senior) – NY, DC or Seattle

About the role

We are seeking a motivated associate to join our intellectual property litigation team in New York, Washington, DC, or Seattle. The role involves handling high‑stakes patent and technology disputes in federal courts, before the U.S. International Trade Commission and the Patent Trial and Appeal Board.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with partners on complex IP litigation matters for leading technology companies and startups.
• Conduct legal research, analyze case law, and help shape litigation strategy on patent validity, infringement, and related antitrust issues.
• Draft pleadings, motions, discovery plans and other critical court documents.
• Prepare for depositions, hearings and trials, including evidence review, trial material creation and coordination with expert witnesses.
• Monitor emerging legal and technological developments in IP, such as standards and patent‑misuse defenses.
• Support appellate work, including drafting amicus briefs for the Federal Circuit and the U.S. Supreme Court.

Required profile

• J.D. from an ABA‑accredited law school with strong academic record.
• Bar admission (or eligibility) in the state of employment.
• 3–7 years of experience in IP litigation, including patent cases in federal court, ITC hearings or PTAB proceedings.
• Technical background or degree in a scientific field and familiarity with semiconductors, software, telecommunications, medical devices, fintech or biotechnology.
• Excellent research, analytical, writing and oral communication skills.
