Team Leader – Pharma

About the role

Amex GBT is seeking a proactive Team Leader to oversee its pharma congress planning activities. The role involves directing a team of 8‑14 staff, ensuring high‑quality customer service, and maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations while delivering on client expectations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop a team of exempt and non‑exempt employees, conducting regular one‑on‑one meetings and performance reviews.
• Ensure adherence to Standard Operating Procedures, company policies, and healthcare compliance standards.
• Manage staffing models, schedule, vacation, expense reports, payroll, and other HR‑related paperwork.
• Oversee budgeting, forecasting, costing, and financial documentation for congress‑related activities.
• Conduct weekly team meetings to discuss volume, productivity, deliverables, and service levels.
• Provide training, mentorship, and subject‑matter expertise in forecasting, budgeting, and compliance.
• Audit event files to verify completion of all required documentation and compliance requirements.
• Escalate obstacles and propose solutions to operations leadership, contributing to operational profitability.

Required profile

• Proven leadership experience managing teams of 8‑14 members in a fast‑paced environment.
• Strong understanding of healthcare compliance and pharma industry standards.
• Excellent communication, coaching, and performance‑management skills.
• Ability to analyze staffing needs, develop development plans, and drive continuous improvement.
