Teaching Associate 3 – Introductory Biology Lab Instructor

About the role

The Teaching Associate 3 will support laboratory instruction for the Introductory Biology program in the Department of Biological Sciences. Working in the 0101 Life Sciences Building, the associate will teach and manage lab sessions across fall, spring and summer terms.

Key responsibilities

• Teach up to four laboratory sections each semester (approximately 45% of time).
• Prepare materials, set up equipment, and oversee weekly lab exercises (approximately 45% of time).
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the Associate Chair or Department Chair (approximately 10% of time).

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Biological Sciences, Biochemistry, Microbiology or a related field.
• At least three years of relevant experience, including graduate‑level laboratory work.
• Eligibility to pass a drug screening and background check (Safety and Security Sensitive position).

• Laboratory teaching and supervision.
• Preparation and organization of lab materials and equipment.
