Teaching Associate 2 – Elementary (University Laboratory School)

About the role

The University Laboratory School seeks a Teaching Associate 2 to support elementary classroom instruction. Working under the lead instructor, you will help deliver research‑based lessons, manage the classroom environment, and contribute to the school’s mission of educational innovation.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the lead instructor in planning and delivering lessons aligned with state standards and curriculum.
• Maintain a safe, respectful, and engaging classroom atmosphere.
• Participate in professional development activities, workshops, and conferences to stay current with effective teaching practices.
• Attend faculty meetings, in‑service training, and school events as required.
• Enforce school and university policies consistently.
• Complete mandatory training, certifications, and annual handbook reviews.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in education or a related field.
• Minimum one year of teaching experience.
• Valid Louisiana Teaching Certificate or equivalent certification from another state, with the ability to update to Louisiana licensure.
• Professional communication skills with students, parents, colleagues, and leadership.
