Tax Supervisor

About the role

Frost PLLC, a full-service public accounting and advisory firm offering tax, assurance, advisory, business valuation, litigation support and animal welfare services, is hiring a Tax Supervisor in Fayetteville. The role suits someone ready to build on their technical tax expertise while developing leadership and client advisory skills, working with a diverse client base and mentoring developing professionals.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review complex individual and business tax returns, applying tax laws, regulations, rulings and legal precedents.
• Build strong client relationships and deliver responsive, high-quality service.
• Lead and support the tax team by answering questions, solving problems, training team members and fostering collaboration.
• Perform high-level reviews of individual and complex business returns, checking accuracy, completeness and supporting documentation.
• Research tax issues, support transaction reviews and solve complex tax matters.
• Manage assignments and deadlines with minimal supervision, following firm practice management procedures.
• Stay current on tax law changes and industry trends, maintain required Continuing Professional Education (CPE) and develop technical, leadership and interpersonal skills.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field.
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license required.
• Five or more tax seasons of public accounting experience.
• Experience with multistate taxation.
• Preferred: experience serving agribusiness clients and working at a mid-sized or larger public accounting firm.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and during extended hours in busy seasons.

Required skills

• Proficiency with CCH Axcess, CCH ProSystem fx Engagement, CCH AnswerConnect and other tax preparation and research software.
• Strong communication, listening and problem-solving skills.
