Tax Specialist

About the role
The Tax Specialist will join RINA’s Americas Finance Division, working from one of the company’s offices in Houston, Chicago or Lisle. The role supports fiscal operations across the United States and Canada, ensuring tax processes are accurate, efficient and compliant with all applicable regulations.
Key responsibilities
- Lead tax planning and compliance activities, overseeing federal, state, local, property, sales & use and VAT filings.
- Track filing status, coordinate with external consultants and ensure deadlines are met.
- Review and resolve notices from tax authorities and liaise with HR on payroll tax reporting.
- Monitor changes in tax laws, implement internal controls and propose tax‑saving opportunities such as credits and exemptions.
- Provide tax input for mergers, acquisitions, divestitures and other strategic initiatives.
- Prepare tax provisions, monthly adjustments and support financial close activities.
- Develop and maintain budgets, forecasts and financial analyses related to tax matters.
- Conduct research on tax regulations, rulings and case law to keep the organization up‑to‑date.
- Coordinate with external auditors during financial audits and ensure regulatory reporting compliance.
Required profile
- Demonstrated experience in corporate tax planning, compliance and reporting.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. and Canadian tax regulations, including federal, state and local obligations.
- Ability to analyze financial data, identify tax optimization opportunities and support strategic decisions.
- Excellent communication skills for interaction with internal departments, external advisors and tax authorities.
