Tax Preparer – Remote, Bilingual (English/French)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Tax Preparer to join our remote team. You will be responsible for preparing and reviewing complex individual and business tax returns, supporting clients with accounting tasks, and providing guidance on business formation.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review individual (1040) and business (1120, 1120‑S, 1065) tax returns, including international filings.
• Review junior team members' work for accuracy, compliance, and completeness.
• File multi‑state sales tax returns and resolve IRS or state notices.
• Identify tax planning opportunities and communicate findings to clients.
• Assist clients with bookkeeping reviews, financial statements, reconciliations, and payroll tax compliance.
• Guide clients through business entity formation, EIN registration, and operating agreements.
• Serve as primary contact for assigned clients, responding to inquiries promptly.
• Provide operational support to the CEO and coordinate with remote contractors.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of tax preparation and review experience in a professional firm.
• Active PTIN required to prepare and sign returns.
• Strong knowledge of federal and state tax law for individuals and businesses.
• Fluency in written and spoken English and French.
• Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment with reliable high‑speed internet.

Required skills

• Proficiency with professional tax software such as Drake, ProSeries, or UltraTax.
• Active PTIN (Preparer Tax Identification Number).
