Tax Manager

About the role

Discovery Land Company is looking for an experienced Tax Manager to oversee tax compliance, reporting and day‑to‑day tax matters for its multi‑national real‑estate development business. The role sits within the Finance and Accounting department and reports to the Director of Tax.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review federal and state income tax returns for partnerships, disregarded entities and corporate structures.
• Manage Schedule K‑1 reporting, partner allocations and capital account maintenance.
• Apply inventory capitalization rules under IRC §263A to development costs and monitor tax accounting for long‑term projects.
• Support tax aspects of acquisitions, dispositions, joint ventures and ownership changes.
• Respond to tax notices and audits, maintain documentation and improve tax processes and internal controls.

Required profile

• 5–8+ years of tax experience, preferably in real‑estate development or construction.
• Strong knowledge of partnership taxation and real‑estate tax rules, including IRC §263A.
• Experience with multi‑entity structures such as LLCs, partnerships and disregarded entities.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; CPA preferred.
