Tax Consultant – Transaction Tax

About the role

Join DMA as a Tax Consultant focused on Transaction Tax, where you will support clients through sales and use tax audit defense, reverse audits, and over‑payment recovery. You’ll analyze transactional data, identify refund opportunities, conduct multi‑state tax research, and collaborate with tax authorities to deliver measurable savings.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in review preparation, reconciling data to trial balances and tax reports.
• Gather and verify essential documentation such as invoices, purchase orders, and tax returns.
• Research and enter tax exemption data, and address sales/use tax questions.
• Prepare client reports, refund claims, and deliver training.
• Coordinate with vendors for refund follow‑up and travel to client sites as needed.
• Support senior tax consultants, managers, and directors in various engagements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
• 1‑3 years of experience in sales tax, preferably with audit focus.
• Valid driver’s license and authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
• Strong problem‑solving, verbal and written communication abilities.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively across all professional levels.
