Tax Analyst

About the role

Join a growing organization that is transforming critical energy infrastructure while supporting the financial operations of a rapidly expanding regulated natural gas utility. As a Tax Analyst you will contribute to tax accounting, compliance, and reporting across multiple jurisdictions.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare tax accruals and maintain supporting workpapers.
• Prepare and file state and local tax returns, including sales and use tax filings.
• Support property tax reporting and compliance activities.
• Reconcile tax‑related general ledger accounts and assist with month‑end and year‑end close processes.
• Assist with tax audits by preparing documentation and responding to information requests.
• Monitor filing deadlines and maintain compliance records.
• Research applicable tax regulations and support compliance across multiple jurisdictions.
• Help develop and enhance tax processes and internal controls.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 1–3+ years of accounting, tax, or related professional experience.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and account reconciliations.
• Experience with state and local tax (SALT) compliance.
• CPA certification or active progress toward CPA preferred.
• Utility or regulated industry experience is a plus.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
• Experience working with ERP systems.
