Tax Analyst

About the role

As a Tax Analyst you will support Clarience Technologies' Tax Department and the broader business across a wide range of tax matters, including accounting, compliance, forecasting, indirect taxes, payroll, and planning. The role is new and will focus heavily on U.S. state tax issues while also providing assistance on federal and international tax topics as needed.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Tax Director with implementing Vertex sales and use tax software, including project management, sales tax registrations, and reseller certificate collection.
• Investigate and respond to tax notices from governmental agencies.
• Forecast U.S. tax liabilities at federal and state levels and prepare quarterly estimated tax calculations.
• Support tax calculations for compliance and provision workstreams performed by external vendors.
• Manage payroll tax processes using ADP SmartCompliance and act as liaison for system upgrades or issues.
• Conduct tax research to support decision‑making and acquisition activities.
• Support audit activities for U.S. and foreign taxes and draft tax memoranda for financial statement audits.
• Identify and implement process enhancements, create tax policies and procedures, and collaborate with accounting, finance, legal, and HR teams.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
• 2+ years of tax experience in a multinational corporation or public accounting firm.
• Knowledge of U.S. federal and state corporate income, sales and use, and payroll tax.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and attention‑to‑detail abilities.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills.

Required skills

• Vertex sales and use tax software.
• ADP SmartCompliance payroll tax platform.
• Advanced Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs).
• Microsoft Power Query or similar data‑transformation tools.
• Familiarity with ASC 740 and internal controls.
