Tax Analyst

About the role

The Tax Analyst will join the U.S. Tax Operations team to ensure accurate daily tax reconciliations, cost‑basis reporting, and tax filing support for institutional client accounts. The role demands strong analytical abilities, advanced Excel skills, and solid knowledge of U.S. tax reporting requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Perform daily reconciliations of withholding tax and adjustment journals for Non‑Resident Alien (NRA) tax.
• Reconcile quarterly and monthly U.S. tax deposits submitted to the IRS.
• Investigate and resolve tax‑related discrepancies and exceptions.
• Review and reconcile cost‑basis breaks using vendor systems and Excel.
• Partner with external vendors to monitor and address unresolved cost‑basis issues.
• Assist in preparation, testing, reconciliation, and production of year‑end tax reporting submissions, including IRS Forms 1099 and 1042‑S.
• Lead weekly meetings with cost‑basis vendors and U.S. Tax Operations team to drive issue resolution and process improvements.
• Maintain and update operational procedures, identify efficiency opportunities, and support special projects or regulatory initiatives.

Required profile

• 2+ years of experience as an Operations Analyst or in a similar tax reporting role.
• Familiarity with U.S. tax concepts such as NRA withholding, FATCA, and various 1099 and 1042‑S forms.
• Strong analytical and reconciliation skills with the ability to act on transactional data.

Required skills

• Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency (lookups, pivot tables, large data set manipulation).
• Experience with Broadridge or comparable tax and cost‑basis reporting systems.
