Tax Analyst (Consulting)

About the role

We are seeking a Tax Analyst to join a lean, high‑impact tax team within a global technology and communications firm serving financial institutions. The role offers broad exposure to tax compliance, accounting, regulatory reporting, transfer pricing, and process improvement across North American operations.

Key responsibilities

• Gather, validate, and analyze data for federal, state, provincial, and local tax filings.
• Support income, franchise, sales & use, and indirect tax filings and coordinate with external advisors.
• Assist with tax account reconciliations, journal entries, and quarterly/annual provision activities.
• Prepare schedules and documentation for auditors and external advisors.
• Handle telecommunications‑related regulatory filings and indirect tax reporting.
• Support transfer pricing documentation, intercompany reporting, and cross‑border tax initiatives.
• Identify and implement process‑improvement opportunities, including automation and SOX‑compliant controls.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Tax, or a related field.
• 3‑6+ years of corporate tax or public‑accounting tax experience.
• Strong understanding of U.S. federal and state tax regulations.
• Ability to work independently in a fast‑paced, lean environment.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel skills and experience handling large datasets.
• Experience with Oracle, Vertex, or similar ERP/tax‑technology platforms.
• Knowledge of ASC 740 tax provision processes.
