Tax Accountant – Full-Time

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Tax Accountant to join our growing team in New City, NY. The role combines the personal touch of a small CPA firm with the resources of a national organization, allowing you to work directly with small‑ and mid‑size business owners on a variety of tax and accounting challenges.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review federal and New York State business and individual tax returns, including Forms 1120S, 1065, 1120 and 1040.
• Deliver year‑round tax planning and proactive tax‑saving strategies for clients.
• Assist small business owners with tax and accounting questions and respond to tax notices.
• Research tax issues and stay current on changes to federal and state tax law.
• Support clients with small‑business accounting needs when required.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure timely and accurate deliverables.

Required profile

• 3‑4+ years of recent public accounting experience.
• Experience preparing corporate (1120S, 1065, 1120) and individual (1040) tax returns.
• Background working with small‑business clients.
• Strong knowledge of federal and New York State tax regulations.
• CPA or EA designation preferred but not required.
• Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple deadlines.
• Self‑motivated, reliable and able to work independently.
