Tabletop Designer

About the role

The Tabletop Designer will join Pottery Barn’s design team in New York, creating seasonal tabletop collections that include dinnerware, glassware, serveware, linens, and decorative accessories. Working closely with merchandising, sourcing and visual teams, the designer translates brand direction and trend insights into cohesive, commercially viable product assortments.

Key responsibilities

• Develop concepts, sketch and render designs for tabletop collections.
• Create detailed technical specifications and select appropriate materials and finishes.
• Partner with vendors to ensure design intent, quality standards, and pricing targets are met.
• Participate in line reviews and update presentation materials.
• Support in‑store and catalog storytelling to maintain consistent product presentation across all touchpoints.

Required profile

• Strong product and surface design skills with experience in ceramics, glass, metals, or textiles.
• Understanding of quality, safety, and durability standards for tabletop products.
• Excellent collaboration and communication abilities to work with cross‑functional partners.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
• Relevant education in Industrial Design, Product Design, or equivalent professional experience.
• Experience in home décor or tabletop consumer products is strongly preferred; sustainable design awareness is a plus.
