Systems Support Engineer

About the role

The Systems Support Engineer will design, develop, and maintain the organization’s information and operations systems. You will ensure network, server, and telecommunications infrastructures run smoothly, providing reliable service to end‑users.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and maintain network backup services.
• Administer operating systems and associated software.
• Manage LAN, switching, routing, VOIP, and wireless networking solutions.
• Perform desktop‑level installations, upgrades, hardware repairs, and system configurations.
• Ensure integrity of host computers and back‑end systems.
• Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot end‑user desktops.
• Provide first‑line support via phone and email, and conduct on‑site diagnostics for complex issues.
• Research hardware/software options to support purchasing decisions.
• Review existing systems for efficiency and propose improvement strategies.
• Occasionally work evenings or weekends to meet deadlines.

Required profile

• College diploma or university degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, MIS or Business Administration.
• Minimum five years of relevant experience in systems design, implementation, and support.
• Proven experience overseeing software/hardware solutions and infrastructure maintenance.
