Systems Integration Engineer – Software Integration

About the role

Join a joint venture between Rivian and Volkswagen Group Technologies as a Systems Integration Engineer focused on software integration for electric vehicles. You will work across the entire vehicle software stack, from low‑level drivers to high‑level applications, ensuring that new features move smoothly from prototype to production.

Key responsibilities

• Perform hands‑on software integration and validation on prototype, lab, and production vehicles.
• Develop and execute system‑level integration test plans, creating scripts and tools to automate testing and data analysis.
• Debug, triage, and conduct root‑cause analysis on complex issues spanning multiple ECUs and software domains.
• Implement and validate OTA update mechanisms and vehicle sleep functions to accelerate development cycles.
• Provide technical analysis to prioritize foundational work versus feature development based on program needs.
• Collaborate with architecture, platform, and application teams to resolve software dependencies.

Required profile

• B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
• 1‑3 years of experience in automotive, complex subsystems, or consumer electronics.
• Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical system interactions, especially automotive communication networks.
• Ability to quickly learn unfamiliar ECU domains and translate component‑level issues into system‑wide impacts.
