Systems Engineer, Platform Requirements and Verification

About the role

Waabi is a leader in Physical AI, developing autonomous transportation technology for commercial trucks and robotaxis. The company seeks a Systems Engineer to own creation, documentation, alignment, and verification of vehicle platform requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Define, document, and verify vehicle platform requirements, ensuring efficient evaluation.
• Drive architecture decisions for sensors, compute, and actuators to create a safe autonomous vehicle platform.
• Serve as central contact for platform requirements, communicating updates and roadblocks to stakeholders.
• Apply safety standards (ISO 26262, SOTIF, UL 4600) and promote safety culture across engineering teams.
• Improve the simulator to verify platform aspects under all conditions and coordinate implementation.
• Write, track, and execute tests aligned with project milestones.

Required profile

• Undergraduate degree required; Masters or PhD in engineering preferred.
• 3+ years experience in automotive, robotics, aerospace, or related industry.
• Experience with requirements specifications, metrics, and complex vehicle test campaigns.
• Familiarity with safety standards such as ISO 26262, ISO 21448 (SOTIF), and UL 4600.
• Strong fundamentals in mathematics, engineering, physics, and basic vehicle dynamics.
• Excellent data‑analysis skills using modern tools.
• Collaborative leader eager to guide and support others.
• Passion for self‑driving technologies and innovative problem solving.
