Systems Engineer IV

About the role

As a Systems Engineer, you’ll design, integrate, and optimize complex systems that drive the semiconductor industry forward. You will collaborate with cross‑functional teams to develop advanced solutions, write system specifications, and ensure high quality and reliability.

Key responsibilities

• Play a leading technical role in complex projects involving electrical, mechanical, controls, physics/process, and software design.
• Author detailed engineering requirements and design specifications based on customer and business inputs.
• Lead multi‑discipline architecture meetings and define system and sub‑system architecture and technology selections.
• Develop system models to analyze and optimize performance, and create detailed interconnection and component specifications.
• Design, implement, and test system controls for I/O and safety interlocks for heating, motion, gas, vacuum, and other sub‑systems.
• Work with vendors to develop customized components and manage technical vendor relationships.
• Create test plans, perform verification and characterization testing, and troubleshoot functional, performance, and reliability issues.
• Transfer new designs to manufacturing and support manufacturing, test, assembly, and supply chain for first production builds.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical, mechanical, or related engineering.
• 7‑10 years of experience in complex equipment systems engineering.
• Demonstrated ability to lead technical projects and work cross‑functionally from concept through manufacturing.

Required skills

• Experience with semiconductor equipment such as AC/DC power, cabling, heaters, actuators, motion control, pneumatics, vacuum systems, I/O, and safety interlocks.
• Proficiency in collaborating with electrical, mechanical, software, and process engineers to specify, model, design, build, test, and release electro‑mechanical equipment.
