Systems Engineer II – IT Infrastructure & Cybersecurity

About the role

The Systems Engineer II will design, implement, and manage the company’s IT infrastructure while focusing on cybersecurity scanning and remediation. This intermediate‑level position works remotely across the Texas southern border and supports both physical and virtual environments.

Key responsibilities

• Create and follow IT policies and procedures.
• Perform root‑cause analysis of system, hardware, and software defects.
• Administer Windows Active Directory, Group Policies, and Certificate Services.
• Manage network storage devices (SAN/NAS) and perform system backups.
• Troubleshoot systems, networks, and subsystems, implementing corrective actions.
• Conduct preventive maintenance, error‑log reviews, and database integrity checks.
• Develop, enforce, and audit security policies, standards, and compliance with regulations.
• Perform security and risk assessments, vulnerability scans, and remediation.
• Provide advanced security training to employees and support special projects.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• At least five years of combined systems administration and cybersecurity experience.
• CompTIA Security+ (or DoD 8570 IAT Level 2) certification; additional certifications such as A+, Network+, MCP, MCSA, CCNA, SSCP, or CIS are a plus.
• Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to obtain a government security clearance.
• Remote work capability in the Pharr/McAllen/Rio Grande City area, TX.
