Systems Administrator – Windows & Virtualization

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Systems Administrator / Systems Engineer to provide hands‑on support for clients across the Metro Detroit area. The role involves maintaining, troubleshooting, and improving Windows‑based servers, virtualization platforms, networking infrastructure, and end‑user systems, both remotely and on‑site.

Key responsibilities

• Install, configure, maintain, and support Windows Server environments.
• Administer Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, file servers, IIS, and Microsoft Exchange.
• Manage VMware and/or Hyper‑V virtualization platforms, including migrations and upgrades.
• Perform server maintenance, patching, health monitoring, and hardware upgrades.
• Support storage solutions such as SAN environments.
• Provide advanced desktop support for Windows 10/11, including hardware, software, and peripheral troubleshooting.
• Configure and maintain LAN/WAN networking, routing, subnetting, switches, firewalls, wireless, and VoIP systems.
• Implement and manage backup solutions (Veeam, Datto, Barracuda, StorageCraft) and assist with disaster recovery planning.
• Assist clients with security hardening and compliance initiatives, including CMMC.
• Document work accurately and communicate technical concepts to non‑technical users.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of hands‑on experience with Windows‑based IT infrastructure.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to work independently and with clients.
• Excellent communication skills for remote and on‑site support.
