About the role

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Systems Administrator to support a mission‑focused program in Rome, New York. This full‑time onsite position is critical for maintaining and optimizing IT infrastructure, ensuring reliable performance, and supporting secure operations across enterprise environments.

Key responsibilities

• Administer and maintain Windows and/or Linux systems to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
• Manage networking infrastructure, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VPN technologies.
• Configure, monitor, and maintain virtualization environments such as VMware and Hyper‑V.
• Develop and maintain automation scripts using PowerShell, Bash, or Python.
• Troubleshoot and resolve system, network, and application issues promptly.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams for system integrations and deployments.
• Monitor system performance and implement improvements as needed.
• Ensure compliance with security policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 3–5 years of hands‑on system administration experience.
• Active Secret clearance.
• Security+ certification (or equivalent).
• Strong problem‑solving, analytical, and communication skills.
