Systems Administrator

About the role

The client in Houston is looking for a Systems Administrator to manage and secure a hybrid infrastructure. The role focuses on enterprise Linux, Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365, Windows Server, virtualization, and hybrid identity services.

Key responsibilities

• Administer enterprise Linux and Windows Server environments, including configuration, patching, troubleshooting, access management, and performance monitoring.
• Manage directory services, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, authentication, SSO, and hybrid identity solutions.
• Administer Microsoft Azure services such as virtual machines, networking, security controls, backup, monitoring, and access control.
• Support cloud security and governance, including conditional access, role‑based access control, logging, and monitoring.
• Administer Microsoft 365 services, covering email, collaboration, file sharing, and security/compliance features.
• Maintain networking services (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing, switching, VPN, firewalls) and security policies.
• Build, administer, and troubleshoot virtual machines on enterprise virtualization platforms.
• Assist with backup, restore, and disaster‑recovery operations and act as an escalation point for support teams.
• Document configurations, procedures, and support processes; participate in infrastructure modernization projects.

Required profile

• High School diploma or equivalent (GED).
• 7+ years of systems administration, infrastructure, or managed services experience.
• 5+ years supporting Microsoft enterprise technologies (Windows Server, directory services, DNS, DHCP, Microsoft 365, hybrid identity).
• 2‑3 years hands‑on Microsoft Azure administration.
• Hands‑on experience with enterprise Linux systems.
