Systems Administrator – DoD/AF Support

About the role

Intelligent Waves is seeking a Systems Administrator to support mission‑critical operations for U.S. government customers at Eielson Air Force Base, Alaska. You will join the Operations & Maintenance team and be responsible for day‑to‑day administration, support, and maintenance of a large‑scale enterprise Big Data environment.

Key responsibilities

• Administer and maintain servers, storage systems, workstations, peripherals, communications devices, and software.
• Install, configure, harden, test, and troubleshoot system changes and updates.
• Apply operating system patches and security updates in coordination with NOC, SOC, and program leadership.
• Perform preventive maintenance and continuously monitor system health, performance, and availability.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, including system changes, issue resolution, and status updates.
• Ensure compliance with DoD and U.S. Air Force standards and follow configuration management processes.
• Provide end‑to‑end IT support with a strong focus on customer satisfaction.

Required profile

• 5+ years of systems administration experience, preferably supporting U.S. Air Force environments.
• Active Secret clearance with eligibility for TS/SCI.
• Willingness to travel up to 50% for contingency and surge operations.
• Ability to work onsite at Eielson AFB and adhere to all customer site protocols.
