System Engineer – Project/Program Manager (COSMOS)

About the role

The Project/Program Manager (Systems Engineer) is a full‑time provisional position within the COSMOS Research Center. Funded by a grant, the role supports research and enterprise computing by managing GPU‑enabled servers, virtualized environments, and hybrid infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Deploy, configure, and maintain GPU‑enabled servers and associated storage.
• Manage virtualized environments using VMware or Hyper‑V.
• Monitor system performance and ensure high availability of research infrastructure.
• Implement automation scripts for routine tasks and provisioning.
• Coordinate with researchers, developers, and external partners to meet computing needs.
• Document configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience in Linux and Windows Server administration.
• Hands‑on experience with virtualization technologies and GPU server hardware.
• Ability to work in a grant‑funded, performance‑driven environment.
• Strong communication skills for collaboration with academic and technical teams.
