System Administrator – Remote (USA)

About the role

We are looking for a proactive System Administrator to join our remote team in the United States. The role involves managing Windows and Linux servers, virtualization platforms, and cloud environments while ensuring high availability and performance.

Key responsibilities

• Install, configure and maintain Windows and Linux servers.
• Manage Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP and user accounts.
• Monitor system performance, availability and server health.
• Perform server patching, upgrades and routine maintenance.
• Administer virtualization platforms such as VMware or Hyper‑V.
• Support cloud infrastructure on AWS and Azure.
• Troubleshoot hardware, operating system, storage and networking issues.
• Maintain backup, disaster‑recovery and security processes.
• Configure file servers, storage systems and permissions.
• Develop automation and scripting for operational tasks.
• Collaborate with Security and Infrastructure teams for compliance and hardening.
• Document technical procedures and participate in on‑call rotation.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 + years of experience in system administration.
• Strong background with Windows Server and Linux (RHEL, Ubuntu, CentOS).
• Hands‑on experience managing Active Directory and related services.
• Proficiency with virtualization technologies (VMware or Hyper‑V).
• Solid understanding of DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP and networking fundamentals.
• Experience in server monitoring, troubleshooting and performance tuning.
• Ability to write scripts using PowerShell, Bash or Python.
• Knowledge of backup and disaster‑recovery solutions.
• Experience supporting enterprise production environments.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
