System Administrator I

About the role

Liberty Hospital is seeking a System Administrator I to join its Health Information Technology Services (HITS) team. The role focuses on designing, implementing, maintaining, and supporting server‑level enterprise applications and medical devices across the hospital environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide Tier‑II support, coordinating with other IT teams and escalating issues when necessary.
• Maintain system documentation, including technical configurations, contacts, and troubleshooting guides.
• Plan, schedule, and execute system upgrades and updates for servers and workstations, following change‑request processes.
• Ensure system security by adhering to access‑management policies, regulatory compliance, and disaster‑recovery procedures.
• Monitor system integrity, verify backups, and perform recovery testing to meet high‑availability requirements.
• Assist ancillary IT groups (Radiology, Lab, Pharmacy) and act as an escalation point for system‑related issues.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of enterprise system architecture and hospital IT environments.
• Ability to work with vendors, internal teams, and end‑users to resolve issues within service‑level agreements.
• Detail‑oriented with solid documentation and knowledge‑base contribution skills.

Required skills

• System administration for server and workstation environments.
• Experience with system upgrades, patch management, and configuration control.
• Knowledge of backup, recovery, disaster‑recovery planning, and high‑availability concepts.
