Sustaining Manufacturing Engineer – Austin, TX

About the role

Enovis is seeking a Sustaining Manufacturing Engineer to join its Manufacturing Engineering team in Austin, Texas. The role focuses on managing and improving existing manufacturing processes for medical device production, supporting both sustaining operations and new product introductions.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and improve process specifications, operating procedures, and process controls.
• Create and update manufacturing engineering standards, labor standards, maintenance records, production routings, BOM standards, and work instructions.
• Provide production support to ensure equipment and processes operate safely and efficiently.
• Research and evaluate new and existing processes, operations, and support systems for potential adaptation or improvement.
• Provide Digital/CAD support for shop‑floor layout.
• Manage installation, operational, and production qualification (IQ/OQ/PQ) of CNC and robotic equipment.
• Conduct engineering studies and write protocols and validation reports for CNC/robotic process validations.
• Implement cost‑reduction initiatives using Lean manufacturing principles as part of the Enovis Growth Excellence (EGX) program.
• Develop and integrate process control solutions such as vision systems, laser sensors, in‑process/post‑process gage systems, and data‑collection tools.

Required profile

• Ownership of managing and improving assigned manufacturing processes.
• Ability to support senior manufacturing engineering leadership on sustaining and new‑product projects.
• Experience collaborating with cross‑functional teams to ensure safe and efficient operations.
