Surveyor-in-Training for Wind & Solar Projects

About the role

We are looking for an energetic Surveyor‑in‑Training to support utility‑scale wind and solar projects across the United States. The role involves boundary analysis, title research and high‑volume survey production for ALTA/NSPS land title surveys.

Key responsibilities

• Assist senior surveyors in all phases of ALTA/NSPS land title surveys for wind and solar developments.
• Perform deed and title research, including Schedule B exception review and easement analysis.
• Conduct boundary analysis, tract breakdowns and resolve title conflicts.
• Verify field crew layouts and carry out field QA/QC to ensure ALTA compliance.
• Draft ALTA plats, boundary and easement exhibits using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Coordinate with title companies, project managers and clients to meet survey requirements.
• Support and guide field crews, providing technical assistance and overseeing field work.
• Travel to field sites as needed and participate in project scheduling and reporting.

Required profile

• Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain SIT certification within one year.
• Minimum five years of land surveying experience, preferably on ALTA/NSPS surveys and large‑scale renewable energy projects.
• High school diploma required; associate’s degree preferred.
• Experience working in both rural and multi‑tract project environments.

Required skills

• Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Field experience using GPS and robotic total stations.
• Knowledge of ALTA/NSPS standards and Table A requirements.
• Ability to perform boundary analysis, legal description writing and deed research.
• Familiarity with MicroStation is a plus.
