About the role
The Survey Party Chief will lead a one‑ or two‑person crew performing boundary, topographic, ALTA, right‑of‑way and construction surveys for public and private clients in Denver and surrounding states. This full‑time position requires a detail‑oriented professional who can work independently, maintain equipment integrity, and stay current with the latest surveying methods and technologies.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct boundary, topography, ALTA, right‑of‑way and construction surveys for a variety of clients.
- Set up, operate, and routinely validate accuracies of data‑collector, digital level, and GPS systems.
- Perform and verify all survey‑related mathematical calculations.
- Prepare clear field notes and sketches for every job.
- Execute stakeout and location surveys using appropriate equipment.
- Maintain survey equipment and keep the survey truck stocked with necessary supplies.
- Coordinate work of assigned subordinate personnel.
- Make accuracy and calibration checks and adjustments on equipment.
Required profile
- High school diploma or GED.
- Minimum five years of experience as a civil survey party chief.
- Residential surveying experience.
- Experience on renewable energy and land‑development projects.
- Ability to work outdoors in all seasons and near congested traffic.
Required skills
- Proficiency with Trimble Access.
- Proficiency with Trimble Business Center.
- Experience using Trimble robotic total stations.
- Experience using Trimble GPS equipment and data upload/download routines.
- Knowledge of Trimble survey styles, site calibration routines and methodology.
- Familiarity with field procedures for boundary and ALTA/NSPS land‑title surveys.
