Surgical Account Manager – Cardiac Devices (Omaha)

About the role

Johnson & Johnson is seeking a Surgical Account Manager (or Associate Surgical Account Manager) to drive growth of the Impella® cardiac support portfolio across Omaha, Nebraska. This field‑based position works closely with cardiology sales and clinical teams to support cardiac surgeons and heart‑failure cardiologists.

Key responsibilities

• Gain distribution and utilization of the Impella 5.5 (left‑sided) and Impella RP (right‑sided) devices.
• Manage EXCEL sites and clinical programs for new surgery, heart‑failure, and ECMO technologies.
• Collaborate within the territory to achieve quarter‑over‑quarter growth.
• Engage cardiac surgeons, heart‑failure cardiologists, and the broader “Heart Team” to promote heart‑recovery solutions.
• Staff major conferences (HFSA, AHA, STS, AATS, ISHLT) and local heart‑failure symposiums.
• Build the surgical vertical in established Impella programs.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree.
• 10+ years (Surgical Account Manager) or 5+ years (Associate) experience in cardiac surgery or combined cardiology medical‑device sales/clinical roles.
• Proven track record of selling in an operating room and leading teams to meet quotas.
• Strong knowledge of cardiac surgery and structural heart anatomy.
• Established network of cardiac surgeons in the region.
• Ability to travel 50‑75% overnight.

Required skills

• In‑depth knowledge of cardiac surgery procedures and device adoption.
• Experience with operating‑room sales and clinical support for medical devices.
