Supply Chain Operations Specialist

About the role

The Supply Chain Operations Specialist will support manufacturing and tenant‑related supply chain activities on a long‑term contract assignment in the Westbank area of New Orleans. The role focuses on coordinating planning, inventory, and logistics to keep operations running smoothly.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate production planning to align material availability with operational schedules and business priorities.
• Monitor inventory levels, identify imbalances, and adjust plans to maintain continuity.
• Manage logistics execution with carriers and internal partners across truck and rail modes.
• Assist with freight planning and fleet coordination to improve service performance.
• Compile, analyze, and communicate operational data for leadership decision‑making.
• Partner with Customer Service, Operations, Procurement, and external stakeholders for clear communication and coordination.
• Support development and startup activities by establishing structure and addressing operational gaps.
• Identify practical opportunities to improve planning, tracking, and execution within existing systems.

Required profile

• 5–10 years of experience in supply chain, logistics, production planning, or operational support.
• Proven background leading production planning in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of inventory control, material flow, and supply‑demand balancing.
• Experience coordinating transportation across multiple freight modes (truck and rail).
• Ability to work independently, prioritize effectively, and make sound decisions in a fast‑paced setting.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with internal teams, customers, and external partners.

Required skills

• Hands‑on proficiency with enterprise systems such as Microsoft Dynamics AX or PeopleSoft.
• Advanced Excel skills for tracking, analysis, and planning support.
