Supply Chain Manufacturing Engineer

About the role

Moog’s Military Aircraft Group is seeking a Supply Chain Manufacturing Engineer to join its manufacturing engineering team in Torrance, CA. The role supports the expanding external supply chain, ensuring suppliers deliver high‑quality components that meet customer demand rates. This on‑site position follows a 9/80 work schedule and involves close collaboration with cross‑functional teams and suppliers.

Key responsibilities

• Support manufacturing of complex machining, gear, and motor components within the supplier network.
• Conduct part risk assessments and drive mitigation plans with suppliers.
• Review and validate manufacturing processes against engineering drawings and specifications.
• Collaborate with internal engineering teams to communicate design intent.
• Recommend tooling, processes, and inspection methods to improve supplier performance.
• Assess supplier manufacturing capabilities and provide technical support to resolve issues.
• Identify manufacturability concerns on new designs and provide data‑based feedback.
• Lead DFX/DFMA activities and review PPAP submissions for accuracy.
• Create and support PFMEA activities, conduct Gage R&R and MSA evaluations, and analyze process capability data.
• Support Moog’s Zero‑Defect journey using AS9145 methodologies.
• Travel up to 35% to supplier sites.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Industrial, Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• 3+ years of manufacturing engineering experience.
• Strong working knowledge of turning, milling, OD/ID grinding, surface grinding, and jig grinding processes.
