Supplier Engineer IV – Quality & Reliability

About the role

Applied Materials is seeking a Supplier Engineer IV to join its Quality and Reliability Engineering team in Santa Clara. The role focuses on managing supplier quality performance for RF/process power and sensor repair and refurbishment suppliers, driving continuous improvement and ensuring high‑quality execution across the supply base.

Key responsibilities

• Manage quality performance for RF/process power and sensor repair suppliers, including monitoring, issue escalation, and continuous improvement.
• Lead supplier technical audits, evaluate performance and capabilities, and drive improvement opportunities.
• Lead quality problem resolution, incident management, root‑cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Conduct supplier quality reviews, audits and improvement plans to reduce defects and improve overall performance.
• Participate in supplier selection to build a competitive supply base and monitor cost drivers.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Strong technical knowledge of electrical/electronic products, manufacturing processes, failure analysis and reliability fundamentals.
• Proven experience in supplier quality engineering, technical audits, process capability assessments and corrective‑action methodologies (8D, root‑cause).
• Expertise in RF power systems, power electronics or high‑voltage/high‑power applications.
• Experience in semiconductor equipment or advanced electronics industry is highly desirable.
