Supplier Development Engineer

About the role

Moog’s Space Propulsion Supply Chain team is seeking a Supplier Development Engineer to act as the technical bridge between internal engineering groups and external suppliers. The role supports next‑generation space propulsion programs by ensuring suppliers have the capacity, capabilities, and process controls required for successful delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Assess and qualify suppliers, evaluating capacity, technical health, and readiness for sourcing decisions.
• Maintain sub‑tier supplier maps, visit reports, and health records for risk monitoring.
• Collaborate with Operations, Program Management, Supplier Quality, Design, and Product Engineering to align supplier capabilities with program requirements.
• Provide technical liaison and clear communication to turn vendors into trusted, long‑term partners.
• Travel domestically and internationally (up to 25%) to conduct supplier visits and audits.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Aerospace, Mechanical Engineering or related field with 5+ years relevant experience, or Associate’s degree with 9+ years experience.
• Strong analytical ability in manufacturing process optimization, process control, and supplier quality systems.
• Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time.
• Hands‑on machining or manufacturing experience and direct supplier‑facing experience are preferred.
