Supervisor RN – Medical Surgical Telemetry (Days)

About the role

The Supervisor RN provides direct patient care and oversees a team of nurses and technicians on a medical‑surgical telemetry unit during day shifts. This role coordinates, delegates, and supervises care while ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Organizes, plans, supervises, and provides coordinated patient care within the unit.
• Supervises, develops, and evaluates assigned departmental staff nurses and technicians.
• Promotes adoption of nursing protocols and evidence‑based practice.
• Manages conflict on assigned shifts and collaborates with leadership when further action is needed.
• Supports daily clinical operations including scheduling, staffing, and ensuring necessary clinical supplies.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited nursing school; BSN required for Magnet facilities.
• 1 year RN experience (or 2 years LPN experience) in acute care; preferred 2 years RN experience.
• Current RN license in the state of practice and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Self‑directed with strong communication, organizational, and time‑management abilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency with computers, software, and web‑based applications.
• Knowledge of operational indicators such as unit productivity, expense management, regulatory compliance, and quality metrics.
