Supervisor Pharmacist

About the role

The Supervisor Pharmacist leads a hospital pharmacy team in delivering safe, high‑quality medication services to patients, physicians, nurses and other health professionals. Working closely with the Pharmacy Manager, this role balances operational oversight, clinical interventions, and quality improvement initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Perform all duties of a staff pharmacist, including order review, verification, dispensing, and aseptic preparation in compliance with USP 797 and USP 800.
• Conduct clinical interventions based on Pharmacy & Therapeutics (P&T) protocols and provide drug information to clinicians and patients.
• Participate in quality and performance improvement projects and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Audit departmental performance data, mentor pharmacists and technicians, and assist with competency training.
• Support scheduling, act as a technology backup for the Clinical Analyst, and provide operational backup to the Operations Manager.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy.
• At least one year of hospital pharmacy experience.
• Active pharmacist license in the state of New Jersey.
• Strong professional, organizational and interpersonal abilities to collaborate with the healthcare team.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Word.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
