Supervisor – Central Sterile Processing

About the role

The University of Miami Health System is seeking a full‑time Supervisor to lead its Central Sterile Processing department. This role oversees the decontamination, cleaning, assembly, packaging, sterilization, storage, and distribution of reusable surgical instruments and equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Direct daily operations of decontamination, cleaning, assembling, packaging, scanning, sterilization, storage, and distribution of surgical instruments.
• Develop and deliver orientation and continuing education programs for staff.
• Assist in creating and updating departmental policies and procedures.
• Maintain necessary supplies and equipment to ensure uninterrupted workflow.
• Support compliance with accrediting and licensing requirements.
• Act as liaison between the operating room and other hospital departments.
• Recommend and implement quality and performance improvement initiatives.
• Establish and monitor internal controls, ensuring adherence to university policies.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or equivalent; relevant certifications or licenses as required by the department.
• Minimum three (3) years of relevant experience in sterile processing or a related field.
• Demonstrated ability in performance management, employee training, and team leadership.
