Superintendent – Commercial Interior Construction

About the role

The Traveling Superintendent will lead field operations for Class A commercial office tenant improvement and interior construction projects across the United States. This hands‑on position requires managing all on‑site activities, ensuring work aligns with plans, specifications, safety standards, and client expectations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead all field operations and personnel on assigned commercial interior projects.
• Manage subcontractors, vendors, laborers, and other project stakeholders.
• Coordinate daily construction activities to keep work on schedule.
• Ensure necessary materials, equipment, tools, information, and manpower are available.
• Review plans, specifications, schedules, and other project documentation.
• Direct subcontractor activities and coordinate multiple trades on active job sites.
• Maintain daily reports, timesheets, safety documentation, accident reports, and other required records.
• Monitor job‑site progress, quality, safety, and productivity.
• Conduct site walks to identify potential quality or schedule issues early.
• Participate in pre‑punch walks and support an efficient punch‑list process.
• Collaborate closely with Project Managers and client teams to resolve field issues.
• Provide proactive leadership and independent decision‑making when unexpected challenges arise.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Superintendent on commercial interior or tenant‑improvement projects.
• Willingness to travel regionally and nationally, with extended overnight stays as needed.
• Residence within approximately 50–100 miles of one of the company’s offices.
• Strong communication skills for interacting with clients, subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams.
