Summer Research Assistant

About the role

The A.J. Drexel Autism Institute is seeking motivated undergraduate students to join a summer research program. Over an eight‑week period, you will work alongside faculty mentors on a focused autism‑related project while gaining exposure to a variety of research activities.

Key responsibilities

• Support a full‑day conference on June 27 at Drexel Behrakis Hall.
• Participate in 3‑5 scheduled training sessions (virtual option available).
• Assist with data collection, entry, and basic analysis for the assigned project.
• Attend lab meetings, journal clubs, guest lectures, and weekly didactic sessions.
• Observe clinical assessment and treatment sessions with autistic individuals and families.

Required profile

• Current undergraduate student (minimum high school diploma or GED).
• Interest in autism research, psychology, design, user experience, or human behavior.
• Ability to work collaboratively and reliably in a team environment.

Required skills

• Basic proficiency with Microsoft Excel (preferred).
