Summer AI Developer Mentor (1 month, San Francisco)

About the role

Join Leangap for a one‑month summer program in San Francisco, guiding high‑school teams (ages 13‑17) to build MVPs for their startups. You will teach students how to use AI responsibly in a full‑stack development workflow, emphasizing planning, security, and structure.

Key responsibilities

• Lead daily classroom sessions and office hours, helping students design and ship web or mobile MVPs.
• Demonstrate practical AI‑assisted coding using tools such as Lovable, Replit, Base44, Cursor, and Claude Code.
• Ensure secure handling of API keys, environment variables, and authentication mechanisms.
• Guide integration of third‑party services like Stripe and other APIs.
• Provide direct, honest feedback and mentor students throughout the cohort.

Required profile

• Proven full‑stack development experience with shipped products.
• Hands‑on use of AI tools in your coding workflow and ability to explain prompt logic.
• Strong security awareness for handling credentials in early‑stage apps.
• Track record of side projects or experiments, preferably diverse.
• Flexibility to work remotely outside of on‑site teaching hours.
• Fluent written and spoken English.

Required skills

• Full‑stack development (frontend & backend).
• AI‑assisted development tools (Lovable, Replit, Base44, Cursor, Claude Code).
• Web app and landing page creation.
• Third‑party integrations (Stripe, authentication providers, APIs).
• Basic security practices for API keys and environment variables.
