Substation Protection & Controls Engineer III

About the role

Revamp Engineering is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to lead protection and control design for high‑voltage renewable energy substations. You will create and refine single‑line, three‑line, AC/DC schematics and wiring diagrams while translating utility and client requirements into buildable deliverables.

Key responsibilities

• Develop complete protection & control design packages, including SLDs, three‑line diagrams, relay panel layouts, and wiring diagrams.
• Produce production‑level AutoCAD Electrical and Substation Design Suite (SDS) drawings that meet Revamp standards.
• Coordinate with civil, structural, and power systems teams to deliver integrated substation designs.
• Review sub‑consultant deliverables for technical accuracy, quality, and schedule alignment.
• Present design assumptions to clients, respond to feedback, and serve as the technical point of contact for early‑stage scope.

Required profile

• Associate’s degree in engineering (Bachelor’s preferred); candidates without a 4‑year degree may be considered for a related role.
• 5+ years of substation protection & control design experience in high‑voltage environments.
• Strong independence, sound engineering judgment, and excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency with AutoCAD and AutoCAD Electrical.
• Experience using Substation Design Suite (SDS) integrated with AutoCAD Electrical.
• Knowledge of high‑voltage substation equipment and protection philosophies.
• Basic scripting or automation experience (Python) is a plus.
