Short Story is an award‑winning, technology‑powered retailer dedicated to petite women. As the Styling Team Manager, you will craft effortless, exciting, and deeply personal dressing experiences for millions of clients, ensuring a top‑notch styling experience that keeps customers coming back.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver a delightful client experience by training, coaching, and inspiring stylists.
• Manage, lead, and motivate a team of Advisors, Senior Stylists, and Stylists to exceed performance goals and maintain morale.
• Own key metrics and take actions to meet and surpass daily, weekly, and monthly performance targets.
• Solve complex puzzles such as optimizing team performance and designing effective training programs.
• Oversee operational functions including shift scheduling, compliance, box completion, time‑off, and timesheet approvals.
• Provide feedback to the founding team, share insights, and suggest improvements.
• Assess new stylist candidates, conduct interviews, and scale the team.
• Design and deliver engaging onboarding and ongoing training programs.
• Build community within the Styling team and integrate stylists into the broader company.
• Collaborate cross‑functionally with CX, Operations, Merchandising, Product Development, Marketing, and Engineering.

Required profile

• Led large remote teams of 20+ direct reports through ambitious transformations.
• Can switch effortlessly between strategic planning and tactical execution.
• Thrives in fast‑paced environments where “good enough” is never acceptable.
• Has an eye for detail and quality.
• Strong analytical background, well‑versed in Google Sheets/Excel functions like pivot tables and VLOOKUP.
• Works well independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced setting.
