About the role

The Supplemental Instructor (SI) Leader position supports undergraduate students in freshman-level math courses at East Texas A&M University. This on‑campus, student‑employment role involves attending lectures, hosting study sessions, and collaborating with faculty.

Key responsibilities

  • Attend lectures with the assigned faculty member and host weekly faculty meetings.
  • Conduct two 2‑hour study sessions per week for students, providing tutoring and assistance.
  • Send weekly email invitations to students, set up and advertise study sessions in Waters Library.
  • Complete session reports in Navigate and assist with grading test papers as needed.
  • Provide quality customer service and communicate regularly with the supervisor.

Required profile

  • Undergraduate student with a GPA of 3.0 or higher and an "A" in the course you will lead.
  • Faculty recommendation is required.
  • Maximum of 15 work hours per week.
