Student Worker – Lion Ambassador (Federal Work Study)

About the role

Lion Ambassadors are current undergraduate students who serve as official tour guides, student recruiters, and representatives for East Texas A&M University. This Federal Work Study position offers a dynamic, campus‑focused role that supports prospective students and visitors while promoting the university’s programs and community.

Key responsibilities

• Provide walking tours of the campus to prospective students, families, and guests.
• Engage, recruit, and help increase enrollment of new and under‑represented students.
• Assist at the Welcome Center front desk, greeting visitors and directing them to appropriate staff.
• Support departmental events such as Admitted Student Day, Mane Event, and large‑group tours.
• Communicate professionally with faculty, staff, students, and the public regarding admissions policies and campus resources.

Required profile

• Maintain a minimum 2.25 cumulative GPA and have completed at least one full semester of full‑time study at East Texas A&M.
• Be an undergraduate in good academic standing with satisfactory progress for federal financial aid.
• Possess a valid driver’s license and be able to lift moderately heavy objects.
• Provide two letters of recommendation from current faculty or staff.
• Pass a criminal history investigation as the position is security‑sensitive.
