Structural Pest Licensing, Certification & Training Program Manager

About the role

The Georgia Department of Agriculture is seeking a seasoned professional to lead the statewide Structural Pest Licensing, Certification & Training program. This role ensures that commercial pest management operators comply with all relevant state and federal regulations while supporting the department’s mission to protect consumers and promote agriculture.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the administration of state certification examinations for pest control operators and technicians.
• Oversee the development, writing, and review of structural pest control manuals and examinations.
• License commercial pest control companies and approve recertification instructors and courses.
• Coordinate biennial structural license renewals and certification renewals.
• Evaluate applications for the Georgia Structural Pest Control Commission and recommend actions.
• Serve as a resource on certification and training requirements for the public and regulated community.
• Interact with businesses, federal/state officials, associations, and the public to communicate program services and regulatory requirements.

Required profile

• Experience in regulatory program management, preferably within agriculture or pest control.
• Strong knowledge of state and federal licensing, certification, and training regulations.
• Excellent analytical and decision‑making abilities.
• Effective communication skills for diverse stakeholder engagement.
