Structural Design Engineer – PV Solar & Storage

About the role

As a Structural Design Engineer you will lead the creation of buildable, code‑compliant structural solutions for utility‑scale solar, storage and substation projects. You will own the design process from concept through construction documents while mentoring junior engineers and collaborating with a mission‑driven team.

Key responsibilities

• Develop structural plans, details, calculations and foundation designs for renewable‑energy equipment, ensuring compliance with local, state and federal codes.
• Interpret site studies, geotechnical reports and architectural drawings to produce accurate design documentation.
• Lead multiple projects, act as Engineer of Record when required, and coordinate discipline team members.
• Maintain quality standards, support client interactions, and contribute to proposals and project meetings.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in civil or structural engineering.
• 5+ years of experience in structural engineering design.
• Strong verbal and written communication, problem‑solving ability and attention to detail.

Required skills

• Proficiency with RISA 2D/3D/Foundation, Enercalc, L‑PILE or similar software.
• Knowledge of ASCE 7, ACI 318, AISC 360/341, IBC, NDS and related codes.
