Stepdown RN – Tele/Med – Day Shift

About the role

Join Ochsner Health as a Stepdown RN providing tele‑medicine and medical stepdown care during day shifts. You will lead patient care using the nursing process, collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, and uphold the highest standards of safety and quality.

Key responsibilities

• Effectively use the nursing process to deliver patient care.
• Assess learning needs and implement teaching strategies for patients, families, and interdisciplinary groups.
• Communicate, delegate, and manage nursing team resources, serving as a leader on the interdisciplinary team.
• Utilize data and knowledge to evaluate outcomes and drive change.
• Promote customer satisfaction, employee morale, and professional nursing improvement.
• Adapt behavior to respect patient privacy, cultural diversity, and communication preferences.
• Perform other related duties as required.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in nursing.
• Current RN license in the state of practice.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
• Certification in a clinical specialty area (preferred).
• Proficiency with computers, software, and web‑based applications.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal and organizational abilities.
• Good judgment and self‑direction.
