Statistical Programming Intern - Summer 2027

About the role

Stryker is offering a Summer 2027 internship in Statistical Programming in Irvine, California. The intern contributes to study projects in clinical research, works alongside statisticians and clinicians, and gains hands-on experience in a fast-paced, growing industry. The position has no travel.

Key responsibilities

• Create, review, complete and deliver statistical programming activities and deliverables for study projects on time.
• Generate programs to process clinical research data for analysis, especially for observational and hypothesis-generating studies.
• Document and implement programming endpoint algorithms with statisticians, clinicians and project team members.
• Work with internal and external team members on programming requirements, deliverable status and resource needs.
• Acquire and curate data (RCT, RWE, public data) including pseudo-CDISC or full CDISC standardization as needed.
• Run exploratory analyses with statisticians to support publication and abstract submissions.

Required profile

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Statistics, Mathematics or a related field, remaining enrolled after the internship.
• Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above, verified at hire.
• Legally authorized to work in the U.S. without needing sponsorship now or in the future.
• Basic knowledge of statistical methods for clinical trial designs, statistical modeling and data analysis; coursework in clinical trials preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication, collaboration and relationship-building skills.
• Demonstrated leadership, problem-solving and organizational skills, able to manage multiple priorities.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of SAS and/or R statistical software.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

• Pay of $20 minimum to $35 maximum per hour.
