Statewide Safety Inspector – Georgia

About the role

The State of Georgia is seeking a Statewide Safety Inspector to ensure compliance with safety regulations across elevators, amusement rides, boilers, and pressure vessels. This field‑based position works under supervision to protect public safety throughout the state.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct inspections of elevators, carnival and amusement park rides, and boiler/pressure vessels for compliance with state and federal regulations.
• Interpret and apply OSHA, NFPA, and other relevant safety codes.
• Document compliance findings and generate analytical reports.
• Monitor and record the status of emergency equipment and related safety items.
• Plan, coordinate, and execute audits of assigned facilities to maintain accreditation.
• Provide guidance and consultation on safety inspection matters.
• Operate monitoring, sampling, and analytical equipment; manage data records and equipment maintenance.
• Deliver training related to safety procedures and equipment use.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least one year of related safety inspection experience.
• Valid driver’s license may be required.
• Certification or licensure may be required for specific inspections.

Required skills

• Knowledge of OSHA regulations.
• Familiarity with NFPA standards.
• Understanding of state safety codes.
• Proficiency with inspection, sampling, and analytical equipment.
